José Iglesias makes the spectacular routine. With great instincts, a smooth glove and the almost supernatural ability to dive for baseballs that other mortals would simply wave at, he manages to impress nearly every time he takes the field. It's why we're conditioned to expect plays like this and also shocked that, because of such a stacked shortstop pool, he's never won a Gold Glove Award.

Well, on Opening Day Thursday night, he turned in the spectacular once again. In the top of the eighth inning, reigning AL MVP Award winner José Abreu smashed a grounder to the hole. Iglesias raced over, dove toward left field, and was somehow able to stand and deliver a perfect bounce pass to first base to keep the runner off base in what was then a 3-2 ballgame.

Now you can see the play in a whole new way, with a view from every angle possible thanks to MLB FieldVision at the top of the post. It's a new technology that gives fans the ability to see plays from angles that were previously impossible, so you can see the precise route that Iglesias took, to the exact flight path of the ball on the way to first base.

So, yes, the answer to your question is that we are in the Tron universe now.
