Pederson (groin) to DL; Eibner recalled

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Dodgers placed outfielder Joc Pederson on the 10-day disabled list on Monday and recalled outfielder Brett Eibner from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Pederson strained his right groin muscle running out a ground ball in the sixth inning Sunday at Arizona.
Eibner was only optioned to Oklahoma City on Sunday morning to make room for pitcher Adam Liberatore.
Because of the Liberatore move, the Dodgers were already playing a position player short and could not afford to carry an injured Pederson.
"It was our hope to avoid the DL, but testing it today, taking a few swings and moving it around, it kind of lit him up, didn't loosen up," manager Dave Roberts said before Monday's series opener vs. the Giants. "You're looking at 10 days. It's going to be five or six before he gets back on the field, so the decision was easy."
Franklin Gutierrez's slow return from a strained hamstring has also contributed to the outfield shortage. He suffered the injury April 10 and the Dodgers were hoping to have him active by the past weekend. Now it won't even be by this weekend.
"I saw a video today of Franklin running, and for me it was about 80 percent," Roberts said. "We'll get him into some rehab games. I thought it would be earlier, but I don't think Franklin will be joining us until next week sometime."
