June 30: Dominguez continues strange start
Three games into his professional debut, New York Yankees top prospect Jasson Dominguez continues to make an impact despite having not yet recorded his first career hit. The 18-year-old outfielder went 0-for-2 during Wednesday afternoon's seven-inning game but added a pair of walks and a trio of runs scored to fill the box score in his third Minor League game. He was also hit by a pitch.
Dominguez now has no hits (0-for-5) and five walks through his first 11 plate appearances in the Florida Complex League. Gameday »
June 29: Dominguez makes Futures Game history
Just one day after making professional debut, Jasson Dominguez made history by becoming the first player ever named to the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game without having played in a full-season league. He is set to become the youngest player to play in a Futures Game since Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played in the annual prospect showcase at age 18 in 2017. More >
On the field, Dominguez continues to track the ball fairly well despite having not recorded his first professional hit. He went 0-for-1 in three plate appearances, drawing a pair of walks whilst also striking out. Gameday »
June 28: Dominguez makes pro debut
The wait is over. MLB Pipeline's No. 24 overall prospect, Jasson Dominguez, made his professional debut on Opening Day in the Florida Complex League on Monday. The switch-hitting outfielder went 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout in his first game in the FCL (previously known as the Gulf Coast League) nearly two years after signing for $5.1 million out of the Dominican Republic.
His five tools -- each of which receives at least above-average 55 grades on the 20-80 scouting scale -- make him the most exciting prospect to open 2021 on a complex and could make the 18-year-old a star early in his Minor League career. Gameday »
