CHICAGO -- Jason Heyward was removed from Saturday's 8-7 victory over the Reds at Wrigley Field after his third-inning at-bat in which he fouled a ball off his groin. Albert Almora Jr. replaced Heyward in center field to start the fourth.
Heyward grimaced in pain but finished off the at-bat, grounding out to first base before leaving the game 0-for-2.
Since coming off the disabled list on May 18, Heyward is batting .312/.348/.474 over 41 games, including Saturday.
"That got him in a very unfortunate spot," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said.
