SEATTLE -- Mariners center fielder Jarrod Dyson was removed from Saturday night's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Yankees in the sixth with a hyperextended left foot after slamming into the Safeco Field wall in the fifth trying to chase down a triple by Garrett Cooper.
"He's sore," manager Scott Servais said. "We'll have a better idea [Sunday] when he comes in. He may need a day or two."
After being checked out by athletic trainer Rick Griffin and Servais, Dyson stayed in the game for the final two outs of the top of the fifth and caught the next ball hit to him, a sacrifice fly by Ronald Torreyes that scored Cooper to cut Seattle's lead to 4-2.
Dyson was replaced by Guillermo Heredia when Seattle took the field for the sixth.
"I was just tracking down the ball," Dyson said. "I ran out of room and crashed into the wall and hit it pretty good. I just jammed my toe a little bit. It's nothing major. Just day to day.
"If I hadn't run out of room right there, I probably would have made that play. It was hit pretty good, but I expect myself to catch everything that doesn't go out of the yard."
The 32-year-old speedster is hitting .236 in his first season in Seattle, but he has been a huge factor defensively and leads the team with 22 stolen bases.
