How to punctuate a great grab? Flip over the wall!

Momentum is usually only as good as tomorrow's starting pitcher, but for the D-backs on Tuesday, the starting right fielder took care of that.
With the Padres mounting an eighth-inning rally a day after they stunned the D-backs with two ninth-inning homers, Jake McCarthy delivered the catch of his life to end the inning and set the stage for an 8-6 Arizona win.
Representing the tying run, San Diego's Austin Nola lifted a fly to foul ground in right that forced McCarthy to cover 95 feet in just over five seconds -- which he did. But after making the grab, the speedy McCarthy had no choice but to flip over the short wall and somersault on the concrete. A shocked McCarthy held onto the ball -- and his shades! -- through it all. And let's not forget to give some credit to the fan in the Manny Machado jersey who helped him up.
“I had a pretty good read on it. The wall came up pretty quick,” McCarthy said. “The catch itself I don’t think was super difficult. But I didn’t realize how close I was to the wall.
“Obviously, I flipped over. Luckily, I didn’t get hurt or anything. The concrete didn’t feel great, but I feel fine.”
McCarthy was a Pennsylvania all-state running back in 2014 for Scranton High School.
“Jake is extremely athletic,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said. “He’s fearless. He brings a football mentality.”
