OMAHA, Neb. -- Tigers center fielder JaCoby Jones left Thursday night's 7-3 loss to the Royals with a left elbow contusion.

Manager Ron Gardenhire said after the game that Jones will be re-evaluated in Detroit, as the club is set to open a series against the Indians on Friday night at Comerica Park.

"He got hit right on the elbow and he's sore," Gardenhire said. "He'll do some treatment on the plane ride home and we'll see how he feels [Friday]."

Jones was hit on the elbow by a Homer Bailey pitch in the top of the fifth inning. Jones stayed in the game through the fifth, but he was replaced by Victor Reyes as the Royals came to bat in the sixth.

Reyes had joined the Tigers on Thursday as the 26th man for the MLB in Omaha series finale.
