Jacob deGrom had Citi Field rocking like it was mid-October in the Mets' 3-2 win over the Padres on Friday night.

The Mets’ ace continued to mount his considerable case for the National League MVP Award with an electric performance against the Padres, striking out 10 hitters across six scoreless innings to lower his ERA to 0.56 -- the lowest by any pitcher across his first 10 starts of a season since earned runs became an official statistic in 1913.

But the biggest cheers of the night might have come after deGrom singled in a pair of runs off Padres lefty Blake Snell in the fifth, igniting a huge roar from the 26,637 fans in attendance -- the largest crowd at Citi Field since 2019.
