Start of Angels-Tribe finale delayed by rain
CLEVELAND -- The Indians and Angels are in a rain delay before the start of Sunday's series finale at Progressive Field. The Tribe is seeking a four-game sweep, while the Halos are looking to snap a nine-game skid.
Right-hander Trevor Bauer (8-5, 3.88 ERA) is scheduled to start for Cleveland. Bauer spun 6 1/3 scoreless innings his last time out in a win over Washington. Bauer hadn't earned a win over his previous five starts, allowing 22 earned runs during that stretch.
Los Angeles is slated to counter with right-hander Jered Weaver (8-9, 5.19 ERA), who will be making his 23rd start. Weaver is 0-1 with a 5.83 ERA in a pair of starts this month. He has allowed nine runs (seven earned) in 11 innings in August.
