Tribe activates Salazar, adds Crisp as rosters expand

CLEVELAND -- The Indians made a number of moves during their off-day on Thursday afternoon as a result of an expanded roster for September.
The Tribe activated right-hander Danny Salazar from the paternity list and added newly acquired outfielder Coco Crisp to the Major League roster. Crisp is expected to join the team at Progressive Field on Friday, while Salazar is slated to start Sunday's series finale against Miami.
In addition, Cleveland recalled infielder Erik González along with right-handers Cody Anderson and Joe Colòn from Triple-A Columbus, and catcher Adam Moore's contract was also purchased from Columbus to add depth to the backstop.
This will be Anderson's seventh stint with the Indians this year, where he has totaled a 2-4 record and a 7.15 ERA in 13 outings, eight of which were starts. Colon appeared in three games for the Tribe his first time with the team. He allowed one earned run over 3 2/3 innings before going on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
Gonzalez will have his second stint with Cleveland after spending much of the season at Columbus. He earned a Triple-A All-Sar selection as he ranks fourth in doubles with 31 in the International League. Gonzalez spent nearly three weeks at the big league level from July 14-August 4.
Moore has spent all year in Columbus, where he hit .247 with 31 RBIs and seven home runs. The Indians' Major League roster is now at 31 players.
To make room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Collin Cowgill was designated for assignment.
