CHICAGO -- The White Sox optioned reliever Gregory Infante to Triple-A Charlotte following their 2-1 win over the Rays on Wednesday, the team announced.
Infante struggled in 4 1/3 innings over six appearances, allowing eight earned runs on nine hits, while walking five and striking out three, recording a 16.62 ERA.
It's a far cry from the 30-year-old righty's stellar 2017, when he posted a 3.13 ERA in 54 2/3 innings. He also walked 20 and struck out 49.
The White Sox will make a corresponding move before Thursday's series opener at Minnesota.
