ARLINGTON -- The Rangers organization is welcoming a full house of their own fans in Globe Life Field for the 2021 season.
While the newly opened stadium welcomed a limited number of fans for the 2020 National League Championship Series, the World Series and two exhibition games against the Brewers this past week, as well as a number of non-baseball events, the home opener on Monday against the Blue Jays will be the first time the stadium will be at full capacity. The roof will be open for all games during the first homestand, weather permitting.
Globe Life Field was set to open on Opening Day in 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down baseball. It opened at the restart of the season in the summer with no fans.
“Opening Day at Globe Life Field has been a long time coming, both for the organization and for the community,” said Rangers executive vice president of business operations Rob Matwick. “I can't wait for Rangers fans to actually be able to experience a traditional Opening Day in this fantastic new ballpark.”
The organization worked closely with MLB officials, the MLB Players Association and the city of Arlington to be able to conduct the event safely. For full health and safety guidelines for the 2021 season, visit Rangers.com/safety.

All fans in attendance, as well as stadium staff, will be required to wear a mask except when actively eating or drinking. Matwick emphasized that social distancing will still be required on the concourse, and hand sanitizing stations will continue to be placed throughout the stadium.
“We expect there to be good cooperation and adherence to the mask requirement from Rangers fans,” Matwick said. “We saw that for the exhibition games. It's not perfect, but the vast majority of our fans are doing the right thing. In spite of the challenges that the pandemic presents, there is a safe way and a responsible way to conduct events. We look forward to doing that.”
The stadium will also include kiosks that turn cash into prepaid Visa cards in order to insure cashless payments at all concession and merchandising areas.
Entry
Globe Life Field will transition to mobile ticketing through the MLB Ballpark app. Tickets can be purchased at Rangers.com/tickets. After the home opener, sections 241-244 will be available for socially distanced pods through the first month of the season. Matwick said the organization is fluid with the situation and things may change as the pandemic dictates and protocols lessen.
Bags will not be allowed except those specifically for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags. Purses and wallets must be 5 inches by 9 inches or smaller. All bags are subject to search upon entry.
Concessions
Delaware North Sportservice will continue to be the official hospitality and retail partner of the Texas Rangers. The company has updated multiple technological and health measures to ensure a safe and healthy dining experience at Globe Life Field this season. Delaware North employees will continue to follow the company’s comprehensive safety protocols, including continuing to wear masks and gloves when on duty.
The stadium has fully transitioned to cashless transactions and includes contactless options on all food orders. Fans are encouraged to download the MLB Ballpark app, which allows them to purchase both food and merchandise that will be delivered directly to their seats.
All-you-can-eat buffets are still open to approximately 2,000 fans in the stadium, but they are no longer self-service. Attendants will be present at each station to assist.
In addition to traditional ballpark concession food like hot dogs and nachos, Globe Life Field features stands with local Texas restaurants, like Golden Chick’s “Original Golden Tender,” Pluckers’ wings and shaved ice from Bahama Bucks.
