Funeral for Ventura to be held today in DR

KANSAS CITY -- Funeral services for Yordano Ventura will be held at approximately 9:15 a.m. CT today in his hometown of Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic.
Ventura, 25, died in a car accident in the Dominican early Sunday morning.
A contingent of the Royals' front office, including general manager Dayton Moore, assistant general manager Rene Francisco and club president Dan Glass, will attend the services. Manager Ned Yost and coach Pedro Grifol will also be in attendance.
Several players are expected to attend, according to Francisco, including Eric Hosmer, Salvador Perez and Alcides Escobar, as well as former Royal Jarrod Dyson and free agent Greg Holland.
