Galvis helps Zulia win Venezuelan Winter League title

PHILADELPHIA -- Freddy Galvis on Wednesday helped the Aguilas del Zulia win the Venezuelan Winter League title for the first time in 17 years.
Galvis hit .183 (11-for-60) with one home run, four RBIs and a .570 OPS in 15 regular-season games for Zulia, but he hit .305 (18-for-59) with five RBIs and a .766 OPS in 14 postseason games. Galvis, 27, will be the Phillies' Opening Day shortstop, but he could be pressed in the season by Triple-A Lehigh Valley shortstop J.P. Crawford, who is the Phils' top prospect.
Zulia's general manager is Luis Amaro, who is the brother of former Philadelphia general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. Ruben Amaro Sr. is a senior consultant for Zulia.

Phillies broadcasters Larry Andersen and Scott Franzke will host "The Hot Stove Show," beginning Wednesday on SportsRadio 94 WIP.
It is a one-hour show beginning at 6 p.m. ET, and it will air every Wednesday in February.
