Fenway to host 3 college football games in 2017
College football returns to Fenway Park in November with three games featuring Division I programs from New England.
The University of Connecticut will host Boston College on Nov. 18, Brown University will host Dartmouth College on Nov. 10 and the University of Massachusetts will host the University of Maine on Nov. 11.
It will be the first time playing in the historic ballpark for UConn, UMass and UMaine.
"This game will present our players with an unforgettable experience -- playing in one of the most renowned venues in American sport -- and provide UConn fans with a front row seat," UConn athletic director David Benedict said in a statement.
"This is a special opportunity for UMass that will undoubtedly attract the attention of fans throughout New England," UMass athletic director Ryan Bamford said in a statement.
"The historic prestige and legendary status of Fenway Park make this such a special and unique opportunity for the University of Maine and one we are excited to share with our student-athletes, staff, fans and alumni," UMaine athletic director Karlton Creech said in a statement.
Boston College will make its 77th appearance at Fenway Park, while Ivy League rivals Dartmouth and Brown will each make a third appearance at the home of the Red Sox.
"This is a great opportunity for our fans to see us play seven games in Boston, our players to experience a world-famous venue, and to showcase New England and ACC football with the 'Football at Fenway' series," Boston College athletic director Brad Bates said in a statement.
"Fenway Park is an iconic New England landmark and we are excited about the unique opportunity to play a football game there," Brown athletic director Jack Hayes said in a statement.
"This promises to be an unforgettable experience for the players, coaches, and alumni of Brown and Dartmouth," Dartmouth athletic director Harry Sheehy said in a statement. "Fenway Park is one of the great venues in all of sports."
Game times and ticket information for all three games will be announced at a later date.
