Greene faces Elly and all he gets is a shattered car window

In his rookie season, Elly De La Cruz shattered quite a few Statcast records, and his teammates were all for it. But shatter a teammate's car window? Now that's a different story.

De La Cruz was facing off against Reds flamethrower Hunter Greene in a live batting practice session on Tuesday when the 22-year-old, hitting from the left side, fouled a ball back into the parking lot. Good pitch from Greene, late swing from De La Cruz. Normally the destination of a Spring Training foul ball is not much of a story, except that this one was destined for the window of Greene's SUV, where it smashed the rear driver's side window.

When the damage was discovered, Greene joked that De La Cruz would be paying for it, according to Cincinnati columnist Mike Petraglia.

"You make more than me," De La Cruz fired back.

The pair of young Reds stars had some fun at the scene of the crime, taking a photo with the ball in front of the broken window.

"Better have @safelite on speed dial," Greene captioned his Instagram story.

If Greene can accept insurance in the form of run support, then we're pretty sure De La Cruz will pay up eventually.
