Twins remove Rosario (hamstring) as precaution
MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins left fielder Eddie Rosario was removed from Wednesday’s 4-0 loss to the White Sox at Target Field as a precaution for right hamstring tightness following the fifth inning, the club announced. He is considered day to day.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli indicated that the hamstring tightened up on Rosario over the course of the game, and that the left fielder did not appear to be running at full speed as he chased down José Abreu’s double to the left-field corner to begin the top of the fifth inning.
Since the Twins have an off-day coming up on Thursday, they will have some time to get Rosario more fully evaluated before they make a firm decision on the next course of action.
"We don’t have a ton of information right now," Baldelli said. "It wasn’t like an acute injury or anything that seems to be on the higher end of the serious scale, but even something moderately serious is still something that we’re going to spend some time on."
Luis Arraez replaced Rosario in left field for the sixth, with Miguel Sanó moving across the diamond from first base to third base and Ehire Adrianza entering the game at first.
Rosario missed 13 games earlier this season in late June and early July with a left ankle sprain. The left fielder had been 5-for-12 with three RBIs in this series against the White Sox before his exit and led the team with 85 runs driven in.
