Durham Bulls unveil 'Bull Durham' uniforms
Triple-A Durham will sport new uniforms in 2022 -- though it will actually be a very familiar look to many.
The Bulls, Tampa Bay's top affiliate, will feature their classic Bulls logo on the chest of both their home white and road gray jerseys, while each version will also have orange, white and blue stripes on the sleeves and collars. The new uniforms are modeled after the club's historic look from the 1980s and '90s -- as well as in the classic film "Bull Durham."
“We’re very excited to be returning to an iconic look in our franchise’s history,” said Mike Birling, Bulls vice president of baseball operations. “Many players went on to great success in their careers after wearing these jerseys in the 1980s and 1990s, and we look forward to the next group of players to follow in their footsteps.”
Durham will also unveil on Wednesday an alternate blue jersey, which will feature "Bull City" -- a nickname for Durham -- in script across the front. The sleeves of the alternate jersey will also pay respect to the city by incorporating many of its key landmarks, as well as other numbers and symbols related to Durham.
The home and away replica jerseys are available at the Ballpark Corner Store and can be ordered online through the team store.
