Asked for a scouting report on Dodgers star Freddie Freeman during the top of the sixth inning Tuesday night, the Nationals’ latest guest analyst had nothing to say.
That’s OK: He was still a good boy.
Yes, a dog joined the Nats’ booth during Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to the Dodgers at Nationals Park. MASN broadcaster Dan Kolko’s rescue pup Pablo, to be specific.
“He’s from Puerto Rico, so I’m sure he’s been watching baseball his whole life,” Kolko pointed out.
Despite that fact, Pablo remained quiet when asked for his thoughts on the game, not even letting out a single bark. Kolko and broadcast partner Kevin Frandsen even fitted the pup with a headset, which Pablo accepted without hesitation.
“He doesn’t seem bothered by it,” Kolko noted.
While he might not have graced the Nats’ TV viewers with any memorable insights -- none he chose to voice, anyway -- Pablo was still a welcome addition to the broadcast crew.
