Dodgers, Yanks to highlight ESPN's Opening Day doubleheader

The Dodgers will raise their World Series banner as part of a nationally televised Opening Day doubleheader next season on ESPN.

The reigning champs will host the Tigers to cap off an ESPN doubleheader that also features the American League champion Yankees taking on the Brewers on March 27. New York will host Milwaukee at 3 p.m. ET, followed by the Tigers-Dodgers showdown at 7 p.m. ET.

"Baseball Tonight" will air between games with coverage of the Dodgers' pregame ceremonies, including the raising of their World Series champions banner.

It's also possible some other hardware could be handed out before each game.

Yankees slugger Aaron Judge is one of the finalists for the 2024 AL MVP Award, while Tigers ace Tarik Skubal is a finalist for the AL Cy Young Award and Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani is a finalist for the NL MVP Award. All three are the favorite to win their respective honor, all of which will be announced next week.
