The Top 10 Dodgers Moments of 2018

LOS ANGELES -- From a 5-for-1 blockbuster trade to an international no-hitter to seven-homer games, the Dodgers have had unforgettable moments in 2018. Here are the top 10:
July 18: Manny Machado follows LeBron James to LA
An offense that had struggled since Corey Seager's Tommy John surgery got a jolt with the 5-for-1 blockbuster acquisition of the Orioles superstar, the biggest difference-maker on the market.

Sept. 29: Back in postseason
Machado made his biggest impact in Game 161, when his two-out RBI triple in the eighth inning off the right-field wall scored Chris Taylor to break a tie and send the Dodgers into the postseason, beating the Giants at AT&T Park.

May 4: International no-no
With rookie Walker Buehler on a pitch count, the Dodgers followed him with Tony Cingrani, Yimi García and Adam Liberatore to no-hit the Padres, 4-0, in Monterrey, Mexico. It was the 12th combined no-hitter in MLB history and the first for the Dodgers.

May 15, Aug. 7: Turner returns, then recovers
A Spring Training pitch broke Justin Turner's wrist. He returned in body on May 15, but the combination of a mechanical tweak in his setup and flipping spots in the batting order with Machado turned him back into one of the best hitters in the game.

Sept. 15: Yasiel Puig erupts
With three homers in one game and five homers in a two-game span, Puig led the Dodgers to a series win in St. Louis against the Dodgers' closest competitor for the second Wild Card berth.

Sept. 18: Taylor walk-off blast
Taylor, co-MVP of last year's National League Championship Series, called his extra-inning walk-off home run against Adam Ottavino "probably the biggest hit" of his career. It helped extend the Dodgers' division lead to 1 1/2 games with 10 to play.

June 24, Aug. 2: Seven homers in a game, not once but twice
The Dodgers are sluggers, and they showed it off twice in seven-homer games against the Mets at Citi Field and the Brewers at home.

May 1: Corey Seager needs Tommy John surgery
Having already played the first month without Turner, the Dodgers absorbed the season-long loss of All-Star shortstop Seager to Tommy John elbow reconstruction.

Aug. 9: Kenley Jansen has another heart scare
For the second time in his career, the Dodgers closer experienced an irregular heartbeat in the altitude of Denver. He went on the disabled list and the bullpen went into disarray, losing seven games without him.

Sept. 2: Matt Kemp walk-off double
He carried the club in April and May, went to the All-Star Game, then went into a tailspin. But his walk-off two-run double in the ninth inning beat the D-backs in a showdown series.
