SEOUL -- The moment is finally here. The Dodgers got the much-anticipated 2024 season underway early Wednesday morning (3 a.m. PT) in the Opening Series against the Padres in South Korea.
On Wednesday, the Dodgers announced the 26-man roster they’ll be carrying for the two games against the Padres. Because it’s only a two-games series overseas before they return to the United States for three more exhibition games in the Freeway Series against the Angels, the Dodgers will be able to reset their roster before the domestic Opening Day against the Cardinals on March 28.

Some players who won’t be eligible for the series against the Padres or Opening Day in one week are Walker Buehler, Tony Gonsolin, Brusdar Graterol, Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May, Emmet Sheehan and Blake Treinen, who are all starting the season on the injured list. Kershaw, Gonsolin and May are on the 60-day IL.
Treinen is the most notable omission as the Dodgers were hopeful to have him ready for the Opening Series against the Padres. The right-hander suffered a bruised lung after getting hit by a line drive back to the mound in his most recent Cactus League outing.
“Obviously we brought Blake in the hopes that he would be ready to go,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. “He took a ball off the oblique and the rib, and it’s just not progressing like we would like.”
Outside of Treinen not making the roster, there aren’t any surprises on either side of the ball for the Dodgers. This is the expected position player group. On the pitching side, Michael Grove, Kyle Hurt and Landon Knack give Los Angeles enough length in the event the starters don’t get too deep into the game.

Daniel Hudson, who came into camp as a non-roster invitee, is officially on the roster after being added to the 40-man earlier this week.
“We’ve got some guys,” Roberts said. “Whether it be Kyle Hurt and Landon Knack to go multiples, and we’ve got some other guys -- [J.P.] Feyereisen, [Gus] Varland -- to give us some innings if we need it."
Here’s the full 26-man roster for the two-game set.
