PHOENIX -- Already trailing by three runs, the Dodgers escaped a larger deficit when the D-backs ran into a double play to end the bottom of the sixth inning of Los Angeles' 3-0 loss on Wednesday..
With one out, and A.J. Pollock at third base after a double and steal, Chris Owings grounded to second baseman Logan Forsythe, who threw to the plate. Pollock hesitated, stopped midway, and was thrown out trying to get back to third.
Meanwhile, Owings rounded first and was caught in a rundown when third baseman Kyle Farmer fired to first baseman Kiké Hernández, who threw to shortstop Corey Seager for the tag on Owings at second base.
