Anderson sharp in Triple-A rehab outing

PHOENIX -- Brett Anderson might have earned his activation by the Dodgers on Friday when he threw five efficient innings in a playoff rehab start for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Anderson allowed one run on three hits with five strikeouts and no walks. He has been on the disabled list since Aug. 23 with a finger blister, after missing most of the season following spring back surgery.
Anderson could work his way into the postseason mix as the fourth starter after Clayton Kershaw, Rich Hill and Kenta Maeda. Rookies Julio Urías, Brock Stewart, Ross Stripling and José De León are up against innings limits.
Other candidates include Scott Kazmir and Brandon McCarthy, although both are uncertain as they work back from thoracic and hip issues, respectively.
