LOS ANGELES -- The Dodgers and fourth-round pick Carson Taylor reached agreement on a deal worth $400,000 on Sunday, according to Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline. The club has not confirmed an agreement.

Taylor is a switch-hitting catcher from Virginia Tech whose offense improved dramatically (.431 batting average, 12 walks, 5 strikeouts) in this season’s small sample. He missed the final month of the 2019 season with a broken right hand after being hit by a pitch.

“He tried to play in the Cape Cod League last summer and played hurt,” vice president of scouting Billy Gasparino said during the Draft. “The healthy version of Taylor is what showed up this year.”

The assigned value for the pick was $434,300. According to reports, the Dodgers also have agreed to terms with first-round pick Bobby Miller, a right-handed pitcher from Louisville, and fifth-round pick Gavin Stone, a right-handed pitcher from Central Arkansas.

Dodgers picks still outstanding are second-rounder Landon Knack, a right-handed pitcher from Eastern Tennessee State; compensation pick Clayton Beeter, a right-hander from Texas Tech; and outfielder Jake Vogel, a high school center fielder from Huntington Beach, Calif.

The Dodgers have a total bonus pool of $5,928,400 and have so far committed $2.7 million.
