LeMahieu, Calhoun win Players of the Week
The Yankees’ DJ LeMahieu and the D-backs’ Kole Calhoun were named the MLB Players of the Week presented by Chevrolet on Monday.
• All-time Player of the Week winners: AL | NL
LeMahieu hit .423 in six games over the course of the week with a 1.038 slugging percentage, knocking four home runs. He enters the final week with a Major League-leading .361 batting average, just above Tim Anderson’s .360. If he wins the batting title, LeMahieu would be the first player to win a batting title in both leagues since the AL was established in 1901, after he won in 2016 with the Rockies, when he also led the Majors, too.

This is his second Player of the Week Award -- he also won for the week ending June 30, 2019.
Calhoun is slugging a career-best .547 this season, and the past week sure helped. He hit .458 over six games, with a 1.250 slugging percentage. Calhoun hit six home runs last week, the most of any player in the Majors in that span.
This is his first Player of the Week Award.
