LOS ANGELES – Veteran first baseman David Freese might go on the injured list because of nagging right knee tendinitis that made him unavailable Saturday for the Dodgers in their 11-inning 5-4 win over the Rockies.
Freese has been dealing with discomfort for the past two weeks. Nonetheless, he’s batting .308 and earlier this month hit back-to-back home runs. In June, he’s batting .366 with four homers and nine RBIs.
Freese’s injury is one of several reasons the Dodgers have rushed outfielder Joc Pederson into duty at first base.
Manager Dave Roberts said management will discuss whether a roster move is necessary.
