Dallas Keuchel has a new home. The 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner is heading to the D-backs on a Minor League deal, GM Mike Hazen confirmed to MLB.com's Steve Gilbert on Monday.

Keuchel, 34, was designated for assignment by the White Sox on May 28 and was released two days later after posting a 7.88 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 32 innings this season. He was effective as recently as 2020, when he pitched to a 1.99 ERA in 63 1/3 innings in the shortened season, finishing fifth in AL Cy Young voting. Keuchel went 9-9 with a 5.28 ERA for Chicago last year.

Keuchel spent five seasons in Houston with current D-backs pitching coach Brent Strom, including his AL Cy Young Award-winning season in 2015. Per The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, the deal includes an opt-out clause if Keuchel is not promoted to the Majors by a certain date.
