Injury updates: Ray, Pollock, Delgado

PHOENIX -- Neither D-backs manager Torey Lovullo nor left-hander Robbie Ray offered specifics on the results of Ray's followup MRI exam, but they were certainly good enough for Ray to throw a bullpen session.
Ray, who injured his right oblique a month ago, threw 15 pitches off the mound and 10 more on flat ground on Tuesday. They were all fastballs. He said he felt good.
"At this point, I feel like it's just more of building the shoulder and getting everything arm-wise built up and back to speed, then go from there," said Ray, who estimated that he threw at about 65 or 70 percent.
The next step is for Ray to throw a bullpen session in which he spins his breaking stuff. He'll then use all of his pitches in a bullpen session after that. All signs seem positive.
The D-backs, who have already lost Taijuan Walker for the season because of Tommy John surgery, are being cautious with Ray.
Ray said there is no timetable for his return.
"I haven't thrown competitively in a game for almost four weeks, so it's one of those things that I'm going to have to build up," he said. "But I feel really good."

Pollock's X-rays as expected
The X-rays of the avulsion fracture in A.J. Pollock's left thumb that were taken on Tuesday looked as expected. The club will continue playing the waiting game.
"It's still not totally healed, but it's exactly where we thought it would be," Lovullo said. "We're going to continue to do the therapy and try to get him back on his feet as soon as possible."
Pollock suffered the injury in a loss to the Brewers two weeks ago. The initial thought was he'd miss 4-8 weeks. Pollock remains in his soft cast.
There is no timetable for his return at the moment.
"Obviously, the type of healing that we saw, he can't pick up a bat or do any type of baseball activity," Lovullo said. "We'll need to wait another week until we reassess what's going on with another picture."

Delgado progressing
Randall Delgado threw a 30-pitch session of live batting practice on Tuesday at Salt River Fields.
Lovullo said all went well and Delgado's velocity reached 91 mph. The right-hander's next step will be throwing in an extended spring training game on Friday.
Delgado was out with an oblique injury to start the season, then he received a cortisone shot for shoulder stiffness at the beginning of May.
Spivey, Robinson to rep D-backs at Draft
MLB announced that each club will have representatives at the 2018 Draft, which begins on Monday. The D-backs will be represented by Junior Spivey and Joe Robinson. Spivey is a former All-Star second baseman and Robinson is a former D-backs scout who retired at the end of the 2017 season after 50 years in baseball.
