D-backs-Guardians rained out Tuesday; twin bill Wednesday
CLEVELAND -- Tuesday night’s contest between the Diamondbacks and the Guardians was postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up as part of a traditional doubleheader on Wednesday, beginning at 1:10 p.m. ET at Progressive Field. Only fans with tickets to the Aug. 7 game can attend the games.
The Guardians will keep their same pitching plans. Ben Lively, who was slated to pitch on Tuesday, will get the ball in Game 1. Carlos Carrasco, who was scheduled to start on Wednesday, will go in Game 2. But now, they’re tasked with getting their pitching staff through doubleheaders on Wednesday against Arizona and Friday against Minnesota at Target Field.
The D-backs will counter in Game 1 with Brandon Pfaadt, before sending Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound for Game 2. Pfaadt, who was originally scheduled to start on Wednesday, will swap places with Rodriguez, who was slated to start against Lively on Tuesday. Wednesday's start will mark Rodriguez’s season debut.
If fans have tickets to Wednesday’s originally scheduled contest, they are able to attend both games. Those who had tickets to Tuesday’s rainout may exchange their tickets for one of eight designated games, including Wednesday’s doubleheader. To exchange tickets, visit CLEGuardians.com/mytickets. Exchanges must be done by Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. ET.
If fans encounter any issues, they’re encouraged to call 216-420-HITS.
