D-backs open 2020 season in San Diego
PHOENIX -- The D-backs open the 60-game 2020 season on July 24 against the Padres as part of a six-game road swing that will take them through San Diego for four games and the Rangers' new ballpark in Arlington for two.
Arizona will face each of its National League West foes a total of 10 times, and they'll play four games against each of the five teams in the American League West.
• Here is the D-backs’ 2020 regular-season schedule
The D-backs open their home schedule with a four-games series with the Dodgers, starting July 30.
The D-backs will play seven home games and three road games against the Dodgers and Giants, and they will have seven road games and three home games against the Rockies and Padres.
“We knew it was going to be rugged,” manager Torey Lovullo said of the schedule. “And we’re going to be in the NL West and fight it out and duking it out and that’s how it should be. You have to win within your division to get to where you want to. I think everybody within our division is preparing for a steel cage match and I wouldn’t have it any other way and I think the guys are pretty excited about that.”
When it comes to the Interleague opponents, Arizona will have home-and-home series with Houston, Texas and Oakland. The D-backs will host all four games vs. the Mariners, and they will play four games vs. the Angels at Angel Stadium.
In order to reduce travel this year, the D-backs will stay in the Bay Area for five road games, playing the A’s (Aug. 19-20) and Giants (Aug. 21-23).
The D-backs wrap up the regular season with a five-game homestand against the Rangers on Sept. 22-23 and the Rockies from Sept. 25-27.
The D-backs plan to play a pair of Summer Camp exhibition games against the Dodgers on July 19-20 at Dodger Stadium.
