Dickerson exits with sore foot; X-rays negative

CINCINNATI -- Corey Dickerson said he plans to play Thursday.

Dickerson pulled up lame running to first base after singling to right field in the fifth inning of Wednesday night's 8-5 loss to the Reds at Great American Ball Park. He left the game with a sore left foot.

“Just see how I wake up,” Dickerson said. “Sure I’ll be a little sore, but I’ve been through a lot worse. I’m just glad it’s not broken.”

Dickerson fouled a ball off his foot in his third-inning at-bat, but he remained in the game until the fifth. X-rays were negative.

Brad Miller took Dickerson’s place in left field.

Dickerson has been one of the Phillies’ hottest hitters the past couple of weeks. He entered the game batting .365 (19-for-52) with six doubles, one triple, two home runs, 16 RBIs and a 1.035 OPS in his previous 12 games.

Outfielder Jay Bruce is active, but he cannot play in the field because of a strained left flexor in his elbow. He belted a game-tying pinch-hit homer in the seventh.

Outfielder Roman Quinn is on the injured list with a strained right groin. He could begin a running program in about a week.
