Even big leaguers get dropped off by their parents
Every kid's first day of school is a special moment. Your parents drop you off in the family car. You hide behind one of their legs until they have to practically peel you off and drag you to the front doors, and then an hour later you've forgotten what you were ever scared of in the first place. It turns out some things never change, even for big leaguers.
The day of D-backs phenom Corbin Carroll's first home opener was not unlike a first day of school. He was even wearing a backpack for the occasion! Carroll's supportive parents, Brant and Pey-Lin, dropped him off at the park ahead of his game against the Dodgers on Thursday night, and Carroll gave each of them a heartfelt embrace before he bounded off to school the Dodgers on the basepaths.

Carroll has credited his parents for much of his baseball success, acknowledging that they've kept him grounded on his journey to the big leagues.
"They mean so much to me, and the support they've given me -- I feel like I owe them so much," Carroll said.
Education was a point of emphasis in the Carroll household when Corbin was growing up, and he attended an elite private school that counts Bill Gates as an alum. Then, just as they still are now, his parents were there to drop him off.
