This baseball team scored 31 runs TWICE ... in 1 day!
The Emory Eagles scored 31 runs in the first game of a doubleheader against the Brandeis Judges on Saturday. How do you top that?
Do it again in the second game.
Yes, the Eagles scored 62 runs in one day of Division III college baseball action. They did it on 49 hits and 20 walks.
Third baseman Jack Halloran went 5-for-5 with three home runs and nine RBIs in Game 1 -- before going 4-for-5 with six more RBIs in the nightcap. The Eagles bashed nine homers and 22 extra-base hits. They scored in 12 of the possible 14 innings. They punctuated each win by plating 12 runs in the sixth inning of each game.
Almost no Brandeis pitcher was safe in this incredible offensive display. Eight of the nine pitchers the Judges used allowed at least three runs.
That one lucky hurler? Go figure that it was Bradeis’ shortstop, senior Drew Michaud, who struck out the side in a perfect seventh inning of Game 1.
