Tennessee retakes top spot in Hall of Fame Power Poll
LUBBOCK, Texas – After a one-week hiatus, the Tennessee Volunteers are back on top of the college baseball scene.
Fresh off a series win against Georgia, the Volunteers earned all five first-place votes to regain the No. 1 spot in the National College Baseball Hall of Fame Power Poll, leapfrogging Oregon State. It is the fifth time in the last six weeks Tennessee has garnered the No. 1 ranking.
The Beavers, meanwhile, fall to No. 2 after suffering their first Pac-12 series loss of the season, dropping two of three games to No. 25 Arizona. Behind those two, however, it’s a brand new trio that rounds out the Top 5. Stanford leaps into the No. 3 spot after a Pac-12 sweep of Utah, while Vanderbilt is back near the top at No. 4 after taking two of three games at Arkansas. Texas Tech jumps up to No. 5 after going to Stillwater, Okla., and sweeping previously third-ranked Oklahoma State.
The rest of the Top 10 is composed of No. 6 Notre Dame, No. 7 Arkansas, No. 8 Virginia Tech and a three-way tie for ninth between Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Miami.
Maryland re-enters the Power Poll in a tie for No. 25 with Arizona. Georgia drops out of the poll.
