LOS ANGELES -- Jennifer Bellinger was there when her husband, Clay, got the call from the Yankees in 1999. And now she's experienced the rare parlay to have also shared in son Cody Bellinger's first callup to the Major Leagues.
Jennifer said the past two-plus weeks have been one extended Mother's Day celebration since the Dodgers promoted her son on April 25.

"As a mother, what you want for your kids is them to be doing what they love to be doing as an adult -- to be in that sweet spot of life of what they've been designed to do, and as a mom, you raise the kids to be a great adult," she said. "I love that he has this character to be a great person and a great teammate, and as a mother, that's what you want to see in your kids more than anything."
Cody's mom said his callup took a while to process.
"It didn't hit me until on Twitter when SportsNetLA took footage of them stitching 'Bellinger' and '35' on the back of the jersey," she said. "I lost it, just started to cry. This is just incredible."
