Cuthbert impresses again with barehand play

KANSAS CITY -- The Royals certainly are missing the presence of third baseman Mike Moustakas, who is on the disabled list, in the lineup.
But they have been thrilled at the play of replacement Cheslor Cuthbert, who not only is hitting a respectable .286 after going 1-for-3 in Friday night's 5-1 win over the Braves, but is playing some sensational defense.
Cuthbert was at it again in the series opener. In the top of the second with two out and the potential tying run on second, Gordon Beckham hit a high chopper toward short.
Cuthbert charged and grabbed the ball on one hop with his bare hand and rifled a throw to first. The throw was low, but first baseman Eric Hosmer made a great "ole" snare to record the out.
