The Rockies announced a one-year, Major League deal with right-hander Chad Kuhl on Wednesday.
Kuhl will receive $3 million in 2022 plus performance bonuses, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
Kuhl gives the Rockies some extra depth for their rotation. The 29-year-old was a starter for most of his five seasons with the Pirates, although he spent time in the bullpen down the stretch last year after dealing with COVID-19.
Kuhl went 5-7 with a 4.82 ERA in 28 appearances (14 starts) in 2021, with 75 strikeouts in 80 1/3 innings.
In his big league career, Kuhl is 25-30 with a 4.44 ERA in 100 games (84 starts) and 395 strikeouts in 439 2/3 innings.
