The Little League Classic is a place for dreams to come true. There in Williamsport, Pa. -- the home of the Little League World Series -- dozens of baseball-loving youth get to be up close and personal with their MLB heroes.
During Sunday night’s telecast of the Orioles' 5-3 win over the Red Sox, Cedric Mullins was mic’d up and revealed that he got his own dream moment: He was invited to join Team USA at the World Baseball Classic this coming March.

“A few days ago, I got invited to be a part of Team USA and I gladly accepted,” Mullins told ESPN’s Karl Ravech from the Orioles dugout. “I kind of was thrown off guard when they asked me, I didn’t expect it. I had no idea what I was being called in for and they threw that at me. It was just an odd moment – it was something I watched. I know the most memorable thing from that was when [Adam] Jonesy made that play on [Manny] Machado, robbing him of a home run. It’s going to be fun.”
"That was classic," Mullins told MLB.com's Zachary Silver about the play after the game. "That's the only memory of the WBC that I can recall. Just knowing the energy that was there that day -- I'm excited to be a part of it."

Mullins didn't have to think too long about joining up with the team, either.
"It was an automatic yes. It's a once in a lifetime experience in my opinion, and something I wanted to jump on," Mullins said. "It's just an honor to have the entire country on your back and just one of those things that you're never gonna forget."
While Mullins was inspired by Jones' clutch catch in the 2017 tournament, the former Orioles outfielder was plenty excited that Mullins got the invite, too:
Mullins joins a star-studded lineup who have committed to the tournament, including Mike Trout as the team's captain, Pete Alonso, Paul Goldschmidt, Trevor Story, Bryce Harper, Nolan Arenado and J.T. Realmuto. Rosters won’t be set until the offseason, but Team USA will certainly be among the favorites to take the title.
