Watch Correa range into hole for diving stop

It seems Carlos Correa's range at shortstop spans from the second-base bag to just a few steps to the third baseman's left. And, for good measure, the first few feet of outfield grass.
Correa showed off that range in the third inning at Minute Maid Park on Friday night. Positioned up the middle with the Rangers' left-handed-hitting Ronald Guzman at the plate, Correa had to take three or four steps to his left and then lay out to make a diving stab at Guzman's grounder. And then he had to get to his feet and fire to first to retire Guzman for the first out of the inning.
The play helped Houston ace Justin Verlander get through the first three innings without allowing a hit.
Houston went on to defeat the Rangers 3-0 on Friday night, with Verlander working seven scoreless innings.
