Correa exits after swing with sore right side

HOUSTON -- Astros shortstop Carlos Correa was removed from Wednesday night's 7-5 win over the Mariners in the seventh inning with soreness in his right side. The injury was sustained while he swung the bat during his at-bat in the seventh inning, prompting manager AJ Hinch to pull Correa from the game.
"He took a couple of swings and had a little discomfort," Hinch said. "Pretty easy decision to take him out. We'll get him evaluated. Adrenaline is going. We'll see how he feels tomorrow once we get a more accurate read exactly where the soreness was coming from."

Correa said he felt some discomfort when he swung the bat on the second pitch of his at-bat. He wound up striking out to finish a 1-for-3 night.
"It was not comfortable," he said. "It was the second strike, so my first swing of that at-bat, and the other swings, I was trying to be protective. I didn't feel good. I walked in and they took me out of the game. They're going to evaluate it."
