Watch Cubs-Cards for FREE on MLB.TV
One of the greatest rivalries in baseball has been renewed this weekend as the Cardinals host the Cubs at Busch Stadium, and you can watch Sunday's series finale free on MLB.TV.
The National League Central matchup is the MLB.TV Free Game of the Day, presented by Blue Moon.
The NL's two leading MVP candidates, Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, have been the catalysts for St. Louis' lineup as the Cards seek their first division title since 2019, and their second since '15. St. Louis goes for the sweep of Chicago on Sunday, while the Cubs try to salvage a game before returning home to Wrigley Field to begin a six-game homestand.

Goldschmidt and Arenado have been the league's most fearsome 1-2 punch at the plate, with both enjoying career years offensively. Goldschmidt is chasing the NL's first Triple Crown in 85 years, currently leading the league in batting average (.331) and RBIs (107), and third in home runs (34).
Arenado, meanwhile, leads the NL with 7 WAR (FanGraphs) amid a campaign in which he's not only sizzling at the plate, but playing his typically sensational defense at third base as he seeks his 10th Gold Glove Award in 10 MLB seasons.

The Cubs, after a difficult first half of the season in which they went 35-57, have been playing better baseball since the All-Star break -- even after dropping the first two games of their series with the Cards, they're above .500 with a 21-20 record in that span.
The pitching matchup features a pair of right-handers capable of making this game a pitching duel, with Miles Mikolas (3.48 ERA) looking to bounce back from a couple of uncharacteristic starts and Marcus Stroman (3.98 ERA) hoping to avenge a rough start against St. Louis on Aug. 25, when he surrendered five runs on 11 hits over five innings at Wrigley Field.
