Baseball Fever! Caitlin Clark takes shot as play-by-play announcer

Caitlin Clark may have stumbled into a post-playing career -- as a baseball announcer.

The Indiana Fever superstar was caught in a TikTok posted by teammate Lexie Hull doing her best play-by-play broadcaster impression from her hotel room as the Phillies and Brewers squared off earlier this week.

"And that ball is hit to the shortstop,” Clark said as she narrated a play. “Rojas throws over to first base, and that's not going to be an out. That's an infield single by Contreras.

“... We’re in the bottom of the fourth, we’ve got a score of 1-0 to the Phillies. Runner on first, no outs. This brings someone to the plate. Here comes the 0-1 pitch, a little outside. [Aaron] Nola on the mound in his Skechers -- red Skechers -- he’s wearing.”

While she’s still in her rookie year in the WNBA, Clark is apparently already reaching out to potential employers in her next field of work.

“@Phillies hire me?” she wrote in the comments of Hull’s TikTok video.

Earlier this month, Clark even tried her hand in the box, taking a few swings during batting practice before a Triple-A Indianapolis Indians game.

Clark’s interest in baseball broadcasting became known last month when she joined the YES and WFAN Radio booths during a Yankees game in the Bronx.

The first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark’s Indiana Fever will tip-off on Sunday against the Connecticut Sun during the first round of the playoffs.
