DETROIT -- ByungHo Park was placed on the 7-day Minor League disabled list Tuesday with a right hamstring strain. Park, who was held off the Twins' Opening Day roster despite a strong Spring Training, has six hits and three RBIs in 16 at-bats for Triple-A Rochester.
Twins manager Paul Molitor said Park had been playing well through the first four games with Rochester, and he is expecting another update at some point on Wednesday regarding the injury.
"A lot of times it's the first or second day you usually get a better feel of the degree of the injury," Molitor said.
Worth noting
• First baseman Kennys Vargas was also held off the Twins' Opening Day roster and has been performing well with Rochester, with a .313 batting average and one home run through the first four games.
Héctor Santiago took a hard-hit grounder off his left palm during Tuesday's start at Detroit, but said he has no lingering pain. He took a few warmup pitches after the incident to make sure he felt fine, and said he totally forgot about the injury until his dad asked him about it Wednesday morning.
