Twins center fielder Byron Buxton and Reds right-hander Hunter Greene were named the Players of the Week presented by Chevrolet.
Buxton earned the second American League Player of the Week Award of his career (and first since 2017) after hitting .333 with five homers, seven RBIs, eight runs scored and a 1.512 OPS over six games.
The 28-year-old went deep in three straight games from Wednesday to Friday and had back-to-back multihomer games during that span.
Greene, a 22-year-old rookie with 12 career games under his belt, is a first-time Player of the Week Award winner. He received National League honors after posting a 0.75 ERA, a 0.42 WHIP and a 15-to-2 K/BB ratio in 12 innings last week.
“A really cool accolade. To be able to hit that in your first year is really, really special. I was with my family actually when I saw it. They were proud of me. To experience that moment with them was cool," Greene said. "Still a lot of work to be done but I definitely want to smell the roses and not be too caught up in trying to be perfect every time, but to enjoy it. Really cool.”
The flamethrowing righty started off the week with seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball against the D-backs, striking out eight and walking none. He was credited with his first shutout after the game was shortened due to rain.
Greene then held the Cardinals to one run on two hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in five innings Saturday.
