Holt woos teams by crushing dingers against his kid
Pull up any of your favorite players' Instagram accounts during the offseason, and you're almost guaranteed to find videos of them sweating in the gym. There they'll be, running wind sprints, stacking plates onto their bench press and doing squat jumps that have them one cape short of superhero status.
And then there's Brock Holt's offseason workout video. The free agent utility player took to Instagram to show off his swing for any prospective teams while getting some help from his son, Griffin.
Yeah, forget taking hacks against the 90 mph machine at the batting cage -- the real test is when you're taking hacks against a pitcher under four-feet tall.
Griffin winds up and delivers and Holt -- displaying the kind of whip-quick wrists and hand-eye coordination that teams could surely use in their lineup -- obliterates the ball off the hallway walls.
Fortunately for Brock, Griffin doesn't seem too upset by giving up the indoor dinger. "Run the bases!" Griffin excitedly shouts -- giving a friendlier version of a Bumgarner command -- before Holt races around the hallway and comes in for a "Risky Business"-esque sliding stop in front of the camera.
It's Holt's best on-camera moment since he took a curtain call in front of an empty Fenway Park last summer:
