Crew sets new deal with longtime TV partner

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers are staying put on your television dial.

The team and Sinclair Broadcast Group on Tuesday announced a new multiyear media rights agreement for FOX Sports Wisconsin -- rebranding to Bally Sports Wisconsin in the coming months -- to continue as the television home of the Brewers. The agreement begins with the 2021 MLB season.

Per club policy, the Brewers did not disclose any details about the terms of the agreement, including how long it runs. The parties’ previous television agreement expired after the 2020 season.

Brian Anderson will return as play-by-play announcer for the majority of Brewers telecasts, with Matt Lepay and Jeff Levering pinch-hitting when Anderson is away on national assignments. Bill Schroeder is entering his 27th season as the game analyst. Sophia Minnaert reports from the sidelines.

“With Spring Training starting in just a few days, we look forward to bringing Milwaukee Brewers baseball back to the air,” said Brewers president of business operations Rick Schlesinger in a statement. “As we look to bring fans back to American Family Field for the start of the season, our long-term relationship with FOX Sports Wisconsin also offers a direct connection to the gameday experience for viewers away from the ballpark.”

“We are extremely proud to be continuing our long-standing partnership with the Milwaukee Brewers,” said Steve Rosenberg, Sinclair’s president of local sports. “We would like to extend our appreciation to Rick, [Brewers owner] Mark Attanasio and Major League Baseball for their help and continued collaboration as we move our relationship forward.”

FOX Sports Wisconsin is going into its 24th season as the network home of the Brewers.

The network said it would release broadcast schedules soon for Spring Training and the regular season. The Brewers are scheduled to begin Cactus League play on Feb. 28 at the White Sox, and they are scheduled to open the regular season at home against the Twins on April 1.
