BALTIMORE -- When MLB Pipeline updated its Top 100 Prospects list and each team’s top 30 players, there was quite a bit of shuffling. For the Braves, one thing remained consistent, which is very good for the future of the club. For the second straight year, Cristian Pache has the highest-ranked field tool of any Minor Leaguer, graded at the max score of 80.
The Braves have four players ranked in MLB Pipeline’s new Top 100 Prospects, with Pache coming in at No. 40. Catcher Shea Langeliers ranks No. 75, Drew Waters at No. 86, and Michael Harris Jr. makes the cut at No. 97.
It’s no surprise that Pache is the No. 1 prospect in the Braves’ organization, but a new name holds the No. 2 ranking -- this year, Langeliers jumped Waters to earn the spot.
In Double-A this season, Langeliers has thrown out 26 baserunners and smacked 19 homers. His ability both behind and at the plate has general manager Alex Anthopoulos already calling him a future All-Star.
The new top 10 prospects for the Braves are as follows:
1. OF Cristian Pache
2. C Shea Langeliers
3. OF Drew Waters
4. OF Michael Harris
5. LHP Kyle Muller
6. RHP Ryan Cusick
7. LHP Tucker Davidson
8. INF Braden Shewmake
9. LHP Jared Shuster
10. RHP Spencer Stride
Cusick, who was drafted earlier this summer, is joined by five other 2021 Draft picks in the Braves’ top 30: Spencer Schwellenbach (No. 15), Cal Conley (No. 16), AJ Smith-Shawver (No. 18), Dylan Dodd (No. 19) and Luke Waddell (No. 29).
