Braves' Davidson named AFL Player of the Week

Braves prospect Braxton Davidson posted huge numbers across four games last week and has been subsequently named the Arizona Fall League's Player of the Week.
Davidson went 7-for-16 with four homers, seven RBIs and five runs scored. The four homers came when Davidson went yard twice in back-to-back games. He is tied for the league lead in homers with five and has an added sense of confidence.
Dodgers' Holmes named AFL's Pitcher of the Week
"Boosted it, 100 percent," Davidson said when asked what impact the big week had on his confidence. "You know, I was struggling a little bit at the start of the Fall League. You know, just having that good week under my belt, knowing that I can play with anybody out here."

Believing you can play with anybody is important when you are part of a farm system as talented as the Atlanta Braves, which is rated among the best in baseball.
"You gotta bring your A-game every day," Davidson said. "I mean guys want to take your spot. Really deep organization top to bottom, so you gotta stay on guard, you gotta do your work."
Braves Top 30
In 2018 Davidson hit .171 in Class A Advanced Florida and his career average over five Minor League seasons is .213. He also posted career highs of 20 homers and 64 RBIs this season.
While Davidson is still focusing on improving his consistency at the plate, he is happy with his team's success.
"I'm excited," Davidson said. "We got a good team, first place, so I think just being on a winning team and just playing good baseball amplifies everything, makes everything feel better."
The Peoria Javelinas are currently 15-7 and have the best record in the AFL.
"In my four years of pro ball I ain't ever won no championships. So, I'd like to win something," Davidson said. "You just don't come out here for nothing. You want to win, I want to win."
