ATLANTA -- Braves catcher Brian McCann exited Saturday night’s 4-2 loss to the Marlins with a right hamstring strain.

McCann grabbed his right hamstring after he slid into third base attempting to prevent a force out. The 35-year-old veteran did not show any indication he felt anything until after he completed the slide. He walked gingerly toward the clubhouse without any assistance.

McCann singled and advanced to second base on a Dansby Swanson RBI single that gave the Braves a 2-0 lead. He sustained the injury as he attempted to reach third on the unsuccessful sacrifice bunt attempt Kyle Wright pushed down the first-base line.

The Braves signed McCann to a one-year, $2 million contract in November. The seven-time All-Star, who previously played in Atlanta from 2005-13, missed two months last season while recovering from surgery to remove damaged meniscus from his right knee.
